Types of Heat Treatment

Here at ATS we have several different heat treatment processes:


  • Normalizing (non-atmosphere only)
  • Annealing (both atmosphere & non-atmosphere)
  • Stress Relieving (both atmosphere & non-atmosphere)


We also offer blast cleaning and will apply rust preventatives at your request. We offer the highest quality heat treatments with the highest level of service, all at the most affordable price. That’s the ATS Advantage.

Equipment

ATS has four continuous belt furnaces and two batch furnaces and is capable of heat treating over 300,000 pounds per day. Our furnaces include both atmosphere & non-atmosphere so we can service a wider range of customer needs.


Our carbottom furnace is capable of running up to 100,000 lbs. of material at one time, and is one of the largest carbottom furnaces in the Midwest.

Testing

Testing is one of the most important parts of the process. Our testing capabilities include hardness (Rockwell and Brinell) and metallographic evaluation to determine the materials microstructure. We also have a full time metallurgist on staff. This allows us to see potential conflicts before they emerge.
